Dr. Brenda Barnes is from Linstead, St. Catherine. Her initial ambition was to be a veterinarian but her fear of cows led her to choose human medicine. She then attended the University of the West Indies, Mona where she pursued her medical degree. During her internship as a student, she was introduced to radiology by Dr. Rao Garikapati. She completed her radiology residency at the University of the West Indies (Mona). 

She has a special interest in intervention and has started training in that area with the hope to continue further training in that area. In her free time (whenever it comes) she hopes to be able to travel to Jamaica and get to know all the beautiful spots on her island home.

She would also love to adopt a children’s home or a school.
